How to use your health savings account (HSA) or flexible spending account (FSA)
In most cases, Empower Health patients have a specific medical condition (e.g., obesity, prediabetes, hypertension, or abnormal cholesterol) that can be treated or improved with medically supervised weight loss. In such cases, HSA/ FSA funds can be used for your Empower Health services.
How do I use my HSA/FSA to pay for Empower Health services?
Step 1
Sign up as an Empower Health patient.
Step 2
Complete your comprehensive evaluation & lab work-up.
Step 3
If appropriate, you will receive a “Letter of Medical Necessity” from Dr. Trujillo, which you should retain in case it is later requested by your HSA/FSA or your accountant, for tax purposes.
Step 4
Use your HSA/FSA funds to directly (i.e., HSA debit card) or indirectly (i.e., seek reimbursement) pay for your Empower Health services.
